Our Work
Single Audit and Indirect Cost Support
Client: regional transportation planning agency. We performed the financial statement audit and Single Audit under GAGAS and the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), mapped the trial balance to the financial statements, and tested the agency's major federal programs. When the agency prepared its next indirect cost rate proposal, we reviewed the prior-year submission and shared the account groupings behind our mapping, so the proposal ties cleanly to the audited statements. The result is a published audit report and a rate proposal built on audit-ready numbers.

Cost Allocation Advisory for a Child Nutrition Program
Client: community organization operating a federally funded child nutrition program. Shared costs such as payroll, utilities, and occupancy were being charged without a consistent method. We designed an activity-based allocation methodology grounded in time distribution, wrote a step-by-step guide with worked examples, and built a companion workbook the team uses each month. The organization now charges shared costs to the program on a documented, defensible basis that holds up to grantor review.

Tech Integration: Process Automation and AI
Our data science roots shape how we work. We use Python to trace audit samples back to source records across multiple fiscal years of spreadsheets, which replaces days of manual tie-outs with a repeatable, documented test. We generated audit notification letters for about 85 regulated companies in a single automated run, with every letter checked against the master contact list. Our AI research assistant answers Uniform Guidance questions with citations to 2 CFR 200 and the OMB Compliance Supplement, so every answer can be verified. For clients, we design automated reporting workflows and dashboards that turn month-end work into a reliable, repeatable process.

Performance Audit of a Public-Private Water Infrastructure Partnership
Client: public owner of a water infrastructure partnership. We assessed whether the private partner met its contract terms for operations, maintenance, capital work, and reporting. Our team reviewed contracts and records, analyzed performance data, and interviewed staff on both sides. The client received evidence-based findings and practical steps to strengthen oversight and service reliability.

Subrecipient Monitoring Framework for a Federal Grantee
Client: nonprofit prime recipient of federal grant funds. The organization passed funds to several local partners but had no consistent way to rank risk or track follow-up. We built a risk assessment tool, monitoring procedures aligned with 2 CFR 200.332, and templates for desk reviews, site visits, and corrective action plans. Staff now apply one method to every subrecipient and can show auditors how each partner was reviewed.

Compliance Dashboards for a Grants Program Office
Client: public sector program office managing federal and state grants. Spending, drawdowns, and audit findings lived in separate spreadsheets. We connected the data sources and built dashboards that show budget-to-actual spending by grant, upcoming reporting deadlines, and the status of open findings. Leadership now reviews one current view each week instead of waiting for month-end reports.
